Dancing with Dementia
Dancing with Dementia uses music and simple, choreographed movements to create an activity that residents can enjoy together.
Designed with the needs of people living in care settings in mind, the programme offers a fun and accessible way to encourage movement, interaction and engagement. Sessions can bring people together, stimulate memories and create moments of happiness through familiar music and shared activity.
It isn’t about learning complicated dance steps or getting everything right. It’s about moving, joining in, connecting with others and enjoying the experience.
What Does Your Sponsorship Provide?
Each participating care home needs a subscription to access the Dancing for Health programme.
By donating towards a care home’s subscription, you can help provide:
- Access to a growing library of easy-to-follow choreographed dance routines
- Inclusive activities suitable for residents with different abilities and levels of mobility
- Resources that care staff can use with individuals or groups
- Training and support to help staff confidently deliver the programme

Care Homes Can Get Involved Too
Care homes don’t have to rely on their existing activity budgets to take part.
Each home can set up its own fundraising campaign to help cover the cost of its Dancing with Dementia subscription. Families, friends, local businesses and members of the wider community can then contribute and help keep the programme running.
Small donations can soon add up, giving residents an activity they can enjoy again and again throughout the year.

We are currently fundraising to help cover the subscription costs of our Dancing with Dementia programme across nine Sheffcare care homes.
