We are thrilled to announce we have been awarded just under £20k in lottery funding from The National Lottery Community Fund! This is to support our latest project over the next two years in putting our seated dance programme, into the adult and social care sector. As a CIC these pots of funding are transformational, not only to us as a company but also the clients we support.
Dancing for Health CIC is so grateful for The National Lottery Community Fund. As a not for profit organisation we can apply every year to fund projects that support and benefit our local communities. We first applied to the National Lottery after covid in 2022 and with £10K lottery funding for the year we opened face to face classes in Sheffield and Chesterfield. These classes are still running today and are now self-funded. They provide a fun physical activity for participants of all ages and abilities and bring a real community feel with the socialising afterwards.
Last year in 2023 we also had a £10k National Lottery Community Fund. This Awards for All funding, allowed us to train two new instructors, provide them with equipment and support them to get their classes up and running. We now have a further three classes added to our weekly sessions. So thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund we now have 9 weekly classes and this last year we supported 850 individual participants and had nearly 5000 attendances at our classes and events. Can’t wait to see how this valuable new funding will help support vulnerable people in the Care sector over the next two years.
